Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination

The Uttar Pradesh State Government conducts the Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination. This exam is supervised and controlled by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Uttar Pradesh. This is an entrance exam for candidates seeking admission to the first year of B.Tech, B.Arch, B.Pharm, B.Des, B.Voc, BFAD, BHMCT, MBA, MCA, M.Tech, M. Arch, and M.Pharm courses. The mode of this examination is offline mode. This exam is conducted once in a year.

The type of questions for this exam is multiple-choice questions. The duration of this exam is 180 minutes. The total number of questions in 150. There are more than 250 colleges that accept the UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination) score. The courses are provided by private and government educational institutions. 

Eligibility Criteria

  • There is no age limit for candidates who wish to appear for this exam.
  • Aspirants must have scored at least 45% marks in their 10+2 examination.
  • Those who have cleared their class 12 in any year are eligible to apply. Those who are appearing for their class 12 examination are also eligible to apply.
  • A candidate can attempt the exam multiple times.

Compulsory Subjects

For MCA and engineering courses, the candidates have to clear their 10+2 exam with mathematics and physics as compulsory subjects. Additional subjects can be chemistry or technical vocational subjects or biotechnology or biology. For B tech biotechnology, the compulsory subjects are maths or biology and Physics.  Additional subjects can be biology or biotechnology or chemistry or technical vocational subject. For B.Arch, physics, chemistry, and maths are compulsory subjects. 

The application form for the courses is available on the official website. Students are required to upload relevant documents while filling up the application form. They have to ensure that the documents meet the specifications set by the board.

How to Download Admit Card

1. Log in to the official website  http://www.upsee.nic.in.

2. Click on “download admit card”.

3. Enter the application number and password.

4. Students can download the admit card and take a print out for future references.

UPSEE Exam Pattern

The exam consists of 8 papers with different combinations of subjects. Students can choose the paper according to his/her course preference. This is an offline examination with an objective multiple type question paper, except for drawing aptitude test in Paper 3. For every correct answer, 4 marks are awarded. There is no negative marking in this entrance examination. Students can refer to the UPSEE exam pattern from the website.

Students have to be careful while marking the answers in the OMR sheet. The answers should be marked on the OMR sheet using a black or blue ballpoint pen. The correct answers will be given 4 marks each. If more than one option is marked for a question, then it will be considered as an incorrect answer. One of the best ways to prepare for the entrance exam is to practise the previous year’s solved question papers. Students are recommended to revise and learn previous year question papers. This will help to increase the speed of solving the problems. The students will also get an idea of the question pattern and difficulty level of the exam.
